Aaron Blake Reynolds Memorial 5k and One Mile Fun Run

On November 1, 2008 our staff participated in the Aaron Blake Reynolds Memorial 5k and One Mile Fun Run. Blake was one of our orthodontic patients who met and untimely death at the age of 21 while a student of the University of Georgia. His parents and family have dedicated themselves to raising money for the Hardaway High School Aaron Blake Reynolds Memorial Wrestling Room. We were honored to participate as this family is special to our dental team.

Several of us won medals but all of us were winners in helping this worthy cause!

Smiles for Life Campaign

Dr. James Lopez is a member of the Crown Council, an alliance of leading edge dental teams throughout the United States and Canada that are strongly committed to promoting oral health, fighting oral cancer and serving their communities through charitable work.

Every year Dr. Lopez and his dental team participate in the Smiles for Life campaign. Patients can save money and time by having Dr. Lopez whiten their teeth. Dr. Lopez donates his time and services and Discus Dental donates all of the whitening supplies. 100% of the whitening cost is donated to the Smiles for Life Foundation to help children facing serious health conditions and educational deficiencies in our community. When you pay for the whitening, the check is written to the Smiles for Life Foundation, not our office.

Everyone benefits! The patient gets a bright new smile and the children get the money. Dr. Lopez and his team take pride in knowing that the time they dedicate will put smiles on the faces of thousands of children! One half of the money donated to Smiles for Life stays in the Columbus community. This past year, $2261.00 was given to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley and $2261.00 was given to the Boy Scouts of America. Both these organizations deliver exciting and educational programs to the youth of our community. The balance of the funds are donated to the Garth Brooks Foundation helping youth across North America.

Thanks to everyone who participated in helping us help out community!
