Meet Dr. Velmarie Carter

Dr. Velmarie Carter is a highly skilled and passionate dentist with a career spanning 32 years. After graduating from Lake Michigan College and Kalamazoo College, she pursued her dream at the University of Michigan, where her journey into dentistry began at the young age of 8 when a fractured tooth sparked her aspiration to become a dentist.

Guided by her mother, a school teacher and guidance counselor, Dr. Carter embraced her calling and became a valued member of both the American Dental Association and the Black Dental Students Association during her time at the University of Michigan. Her heart lies in working with kids, dedicating her first 3 years to pediatric dentistry and continuing to care for both children and adults over the years.

Beyond her dental expertise, Dr. Carter is a multi-talented individual, boasting accomplished skills as a pianist, violinist, and saxophone player. While her musical pursuits have evolved, her love for the violin remains constant. Outside of work, she leads an active lifestyle, engaging in racquetball, tennis, walking, hiking, volleyball, roller skating, ice skating, horseback riding, tobogganing, and snowmobiling. Additionally, she is an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying football, basketball, and soccer.

With a passion for dentistry and a diverse range of interests, Dr. Velmarie Carter brings a unique blend of skills and experiences to their practice, fostering lasting relationships with patients of all ages.
